Meeting for the first time

Video call first to check the person is who they say they are.
Meet in a busy public place, such as a café or a mall, and stay there for the first date.
Tell a friend where you are going, who you are meeting and when you'll be back.
Get there and home on your own. Don't accept a ride to or from the date.
Keep your drink with you and watch it being made.
Leave whenever you want. You don't owe anyone an explanation.
